Effective date: October 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how https://thedeskledger.com/ (“TheDeskLedger,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit our website (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
The Site is operated by The Desk Ledger, Dallas, Texas, United States. You can contact us at hello@thedeskledger.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address and anything you include in your message.
- Newsletter: if we offer a newsletter and you subscribe, your email address and, optionally, your first name.
- Comments (if enabled): your name, email, website (optional) and comment content.
Information collected automatically
- Log and device data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring site and time of visit — collected by our hosting provider and security tools to operate and protect the Site.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files stored on your device that help the Site work, remember your preferences, measure traffic and attribute affiliate referrals (see Section 4).
3. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site.
- To respond to your messages and requests.
- If we offer a newsletter and you subscribe, to send it to you (you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email).
- If we add an analytics service, to understand in aggregate how visitors use the Site.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. Cookies, analytics and affiliate links
- Essential cookies needed for the Site and security features to function.
- Analytics: we don’t currently use a third-party analytics service. If we add one (such as Google Analytics), we’ll update this policy.
- Affiliate links: when you click an affiliate link (for example, to Amazon or a software provider), that company may place cookies on your device to track the referral so we can earn a commission. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies. We don’t receive your payment details or personal purchase information from these partners — typically only aggregate or anonymized order information.
- Cookie choices: where required, we ask for your consent through our cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time via the cookie settings link in the site footer or banner and can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
5. How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site, such as our web host (Hostinger), content delivery/security provider (Cloudflare), and form and spam-protection tools. We don’t currently send a newsletter; if we start one, we’ll name the email provider here. These providers may process data only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public, or as part of a business transfer.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, contact-form messages for up to 12 months and newsletter data (if any) until you unsubscribe — unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of certain sharing. To make a request, email hello@thedeskledger.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EU/UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. International visitors
The Site is operated from the United States and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as HTTPS encryption, security plugins and access controls) to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Third-party websites
The Site links to other websites, including retailers and software providers. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please review their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
